Fanfara Station is a trio that brings the power of a brass band and electronics to North African vocals and percussion. Inspired by Marzouk Mejri’s memories of his father’s brass band in Tebourba, Tunisia, it celebrates the epic of the Mediterranean’s migrants, the music of the African diaspora and the currents that connect the Middle East, the Maghreb, southern Europe and the Americas. A live dance party made by three musicians with loop stations: scascika, tar, bendir, darbuka and tabla, trumpet, trombone, clarinet and Tunisian winds (nay, mizwed, zokra), over contemporary electro beats.
